Distilled Expertise emerged from a number of conversations between Zach and Bob (the co-founders) about learning, play, networking, and current business climate.  Through those conversations we have come to believe a number of things that now guide our Whisky and Wisdom Tastings.

If you are the kind of person who reads Instruction Manuals (most likely a baby-boomer like Bob) instead of watching a YouTube video or if you're just a person who likes a lot of information continue reading.

Material from many if not most traditional talent and professional development programs has little lasting impact on participants and their communication practices.

In talent development programs a playful tone, relevant world examples, and personally engaging activities will amplify learning and enhance skill development.

Stories and a fun environment help participants learn more and remember more.

Many individuals, and most millenials, possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit.  They do not live or work inside traditional organizations or businesses AND they still need and desire professional development. Our talent development events at Distilled Expertise fill this void.

In the highly technologized and fast-paced contemporary business environment networking (whether on-line  or face-to-face) has become THE process for gaining and sharing knowledge as well as for building and enhancing careers.   All of ourWhisky & Wisdom Tastings provide these networking opportunities.

In the making of scotch, the second distillation is divided into the foreshots, heart, and feints.  It is only the heart, the crystal clear spirit that gets introduced into casks to be aged.  The still master or master distiller judges when the foreshots end and the feints begin.  In Whisky & Wisdom Tastings we focus participants’ attention on the “heart” of effective communication practices.
